Harness the Healing Power of Breath

Meet Respir8MKE

If breathwork is not something you have experienced, I invite you to come and see what the Milwaukee Respir8MKE community is all about.

Perhaps you presume that because you breathe all day, every day, you don’t have a need for a breathing practice.

Many people antiquate breath with yoga, something to help keep pace and cadence, like a metronome during asana. Often there is a cue to ‘take a deep breath’ when you want to relax.

Breath has played an essential role in many cultures. In fact, in many languages and dialects, the word for breath is the same word that is used to describe life, spirit, and soul.

Breath is one of the most sacred, yet forgotten, pieces of our daily existence. The breath is a conduit of life and we do it 25,000 times a day; to purge old energy and toxins and to invite in what is new and invigorating.

This vital life force holds so much power. Through Respir8MKE you can begin to connect to what is possible, once you learn how to control your breath.

We will use breathwork to enter an expanded state of consciousness, which is often more accessible for people than meditation.

We will use the breath to learn to temper the body and the mind. By learning how to change our breath pattern, we also change the response of our nervous system, associated emotions and possibly our perception of our environment. We can even use breath to optimize our endurance and performance. What an intricate and intellectual tool we have built right in!

Outside of some incredible physical benefits including the reduction of stress and anxiety, increased focus and a greater sense of connectedness. Breathwork can guide us into nervous system recalibration, and to open the gateway of healing by releasing the stagnant residue of stored emotional trauma. Joining a live session is an excellent way to better understand how to use your breath to your benefit.

“Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment, I know this is the only moment.”
